It’s good to talk

Recently one of the team spoke by phone to a local resident  who had sent in a rather terse email to one of the many project accounts we run for clients. He was amazed a) that someone had responded and b) that someone had taken the trouble to call him and listen to his concerns. A five minute conversation allowed us to listen and respond and really demonstrated to him that the organisation we represented actually cared. That five minutes transformed his perception of our client and strengthened their reputation.

Ok, so that is one person, but in today’s connected world the comments of one person can soon reach thousands at the click of a button, never mind contacting the local press or local councilors. Five minutes on the phone mitigated that risk and instead created an advocate in the local community. At the risk of showing my age, as someone once said, it’s good to talk.
