IPB
Communications recently helped Tesco to deliver a graduation
ceremony for over 130 long-term unemployed people who had
successfully completed their training and secured a job in the new
Gorton Tesco Extra store in east Manchester.
The graduation ceremony was hosted by Tim Campbell, Sir Alan
Sugar's first TV apprentice, at Gorton Monastery.
The graduates include single parents, older people who have been made redundant, younger people who have never worked and residents who have been claiming incapacity benefit.
The new supermarket is a Tesco regeneration partnership store
and focuses on providing training and employment opportunities for
people who have been out of work for more than six months.
Tesco has now opened over 20 regeneration partnership stores across the UK, bringing over 4,000 long-term unemployed and disadvantaged people, in some of the most deprived areas of Britain, back into employment.
IPB Communications has been retained by Tesco to support their media and public affairs work on a number of regeneration partnership stores across the north of England including Toxteth, Huddersfield, Oldham and Eston.
