IPB has outlined ways to increase the number of renewable energy developments across the UK.
Director John Quinton-Barber spoke at the All-Energy Exhibition and Conference in Aberdeen to discuss how engaging with younger people could be the key to securing planning permission for wind farm and biomass projects.
The talk follows on from research commissioned by IPB which showed 86 per cent of 16-34 year olds said they would be in favour of plans to build wind farms near their homes.
John said: "At the moment very few renewable developments are approved by councillors.
"This is despite the need for more wind farms and biomass plants to meet the Government's renewable energy targets for 2020.
"There is a huge groundswell of support for green energy schemes from younger generations that at the moment is not being tapped into. We can help the sector mobilise this silent majority to dispel the myths that these kind of developments are unpopular."
